Lesson One: "The Rescuer"
Cinderella is a fairy-tale. No mortal 'knight-in-shining-armor' is going to swoop down and rescue you whenever you face trials or tribulations. Sure, family members, or friends, even sometimes complete strangers, may be there to help you from time-to-time, but even Prince Charming gets tired or can't be found when you need him.
Self-help is likewise a tale. You can 'live your best life' and 'be all that you can be' and only go so far. No matter how smart you are, you are going to do something dumb. No matter how strong you are, there will be times when you are weak. You may think you know 'the secret' to getting what you want in life, but unless it includes surrendering to God it is useless.
Humans are limited -- even us do-everything, know-everything women. God built us to depend on Him!
It is God who rescues us from the "dominion of darkness."

Assignment: Complete the following sentence. Currently in my life, I am hoping to be rescued from:____________________________________.
Fill in the blank. Complete as many times as necessary.
Next, think about 'how' you expect to be rescued from each problem. Whom do you expect to rescue you? Yourself? A friend or loved-one? A doctor? A boss? A politician? A teacher? A pastor? What are the limitations of your 'rescuers' compared to what God can do for you?
Advanced: How would you describe the 'dominion of darkness' and where is it? Contrast it to God's kingdom. Find Scriptural references.
